Atlanta Begins Zoning Review and Rewrite

In late 2021, the City of Atlanta suspended its year-long review and rewrite of the City’s 40-year-old Zoning Ordinance. This review was suspended to allow Mayor Dickens to establish his administration and appoint a new Planning Commissioner.
The City is now moving forward with the review and is asking for input to rewrite the code that many believe no longer meets Atlanta’s needs. This is a citywide conversation, and all Atlanta stakeholders are encouraged to participate.
The next workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28th, in Buckhead. Each Zoning Workshop is designed to explore new zoning approaches and alternatives identified in the 2016 Zoning Ordinance Diagnostic Report and to build upon information from the last workshop.
